The Tea Revolution

National Tea report for 2016 is out and it is (not) surprising…

Tea remains a national treasure, and is the most consumed drink in the UK. From a cup of tea over the Sunday papers in a local café, to a strong brew to kick-start the working day, tea is now a key driver of the hot beverage category out of home, with year-on-year occasion growth doubling from 1.6% to 3.6% during 2016. Coffee, however, has seen a sharp decline from 6.7% year-on-year occasion growth to 1.2%, down 5.5%, as tea purchase occasions continue to rise.

Big thank you to all tea drinkers and congratulations to all our competitors who are helping make it happen!

Viva Tea!
